Bangladesh makes world record singing national anthem

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh has been listed in the book of Guinness World Record by singing the national anthem by largest number of people on March 26 in Dhaka.

The information of setting the new world record was published on the official website of Guinness World Record on Wednesday.

On March 26, on the occasion of country’s 44th Independence Day, nearly 3 lakh people mostly students sang the national anthem “Amar Sonal Bangla Ami Tomai Bhalobashi” (My Golden Bengal I Love You) together at the National Parade Ground in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

The organisers, cultural affairs ministry and the Armed Forces Division targeted to mobilise the people from all walks of live to lend their voice to the singing of the national anthem together to surpass the last year’s Indian record that witnessed the presence of 1,21,653 people.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had also joined the programme titled Lakho Konthe Sonar Bangla along with her ministers and lawmakers.

Bangladeshis across the country also joined the event from their respective places.

Earlier on December 16 on the occasion of Victory Day of the country, Bangladesh formed the world's largest human national flag and it was also recognised by the Guinness World Record as the largest human national flag.
