Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh on Sunday opened online payment allowing Online Payment Gateway Service Providers (OPGSPs) to repatriate small value service exporters’ earnings with lower cost.
This facility will only be available for service export in non-physical form of value not exceeding US$500, a central bank announcement said.
“In view of the growing role of the services provided by the OPGSPs, it has been decided to allow the authorized dealers (ADs) to offer the facility of repatriation of remittances against small value service exports in non-physical form such as data entry, data process, off-shore IT service, business process outsourcing etc through the OPGSPs,” the Bangladesh Bank (BB), the country’s central bank, said in its announcement.
Under the new provisions, the value service exporters will be able to receive their overseas payments through using the OPGSPs such as Paypal, money booker, best payment gateway and virtual pay online.
