Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced their 15-member squad to feature in the three-match ODI series against India later this month.

Mithun Ali and Taskin Ahmed have been included in the squad whereas medium-pacer Rubel Hossain has missed out, reports Go Cricket.

Taskin, 19, is considered as one of the quickest bowlers in Bangladesh and has recently recovered from a knee injury that kept him out of action for almost a year.

He has played one international match – against Australia during the World T20, where he took 1/24.

Mithun, a handy wicketkeeper with an ability to bat has been drafted in the side on the back of some solid performance in the first-class arena.

He is the sixth highest scorer with 706 runs, including two centuries.

He made his T20 debut against Sri Lanka in February this year but did not get a chance to bat.

Other players to have missed out include Imrul Kayes, Arafat Sunny, Naeem Islam and Shafiul Islam. Tamim Iqbal returns to the squad after missing the Asia Cup due to a neck injury.

All-rounder Ziaur Rahman has also been given a place in the side.

The 27-year-old scored 71 runs in four games with a highest score of 41 against India.

Chief selector Faruque Ahmed said the squad was named keeping the 2015 World Cup in mind.

"We have kept more or less a settled squad but it is also important to get an idea about the kind of back up we have in our hands as we start preparing for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand," Faruque said.

"Mithun [Ali] has been under our radar for a while. He has performed consistently in the limited overs format and in the longer version as well during the last couple of years and deserves a chance at international level.

"Taskin [Ahmed] is an exciting prospect and has already played a Twenty20 international. We thought it was a good opportunity to see how he performs in the 50-over game in home conditions against some quality batsmen.

"Al Amin has bowled impressively since his debut and Mashrafe Mortaza is our most experienced campaigner. We also have a seam-bowling all-rounder in Ziaur Rahman. Because of these pace options and squad balance Rubel Hossain misses out.

The spin department is well covered with Abdur Razzak, Shakib Al Hasan and Sohag Gazi.

Mahmudullah is also quite handy and can do a job for his captain."
