Bangladesh protests killing of girl by Indian BSF

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh government on Monday formally protested killing of a minor girl at the Fulbari border in Kurigram district by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on January 7.

Indian High Commissioner Rajeet Mitter was summoned to the Foreign Ministry Monday afternoon and a note verbal protesting the killing was handed over to him by the acting foreign secretary of Bangladesh.

Mr. Mitter has assured that he would convey the concerns of the Bangladesh government to the concerned authorities in India.

He also assured that all necessary actions would be taken to prevent the recurrence of such inhuman acts of killing of the innocent at Bangladesh-India border.

BSF troops shot dead Felani, 15, as she was trying to return home from India through the border, according to reports.
