Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh has ranked 13th among 168 countries of the world in the corruption index, according to Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index 2015.
The finding was revealed TI’s local branch said in a press conference Wednesday.
Bangladesh ranked 14th among 175 countries of the world in the corruption index 2014.
Bangladesh secured 139th position, scoring 25 in a scale of 0-100.
In comparison to last corruption index, Bangladesh has crawled up six steps in ascending order and slide down one step in descending order.
The benchmark score has remained unchanged.
Bangladesh ranked 13th in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
Bhutan is the least corrupt country in South Asia, while Afganistan is the worst, according to the report.
