Bangladesh relief reaches Japan

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- A special aircraft (C-130) carrying relief materials supplied by Bangladesh government arrived at Narita Airport in Japan on Thursday in response to the Pacific Ocean earthquake at Tohoku district.

The relief materials include 2,000 blankets, 500 pairs of rubber boots and 1,000 pairs of rubber gloves.

The blankets will be distributed to the people affected by the disaster and now taking refuge in the place away from their home town. And rubber boots and rubber gloves will be dispatched to the areas affected by the disaster, a Japan embassy press statement said in Dhaka.

"These supplies will be very useful for the devastated people in the respective areas to recover their homes," the statement added.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Dipu Moni sent messages of sympathy and condolences to Prime Minister Kan and Foreign Minister Matsumoto respectively.
