Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Nearly three lakh people created another world record on Independence Day in Bangladesh singing together the national anthem at National Parade Square in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The aim of the event – “Lakho Kanthe Sonar Bangla” is to include the name of Bangladesh in Guinness Book of World Records rendering the national anthem with the highest number of people together.
The event was arranged on the 44th Independence Day of the country to recreate the spirit of the liberation of and pay homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom of their motherland.
The event started at 11:20am with participation of 2,54,681 people from all walks of life and mostly of them were students. Bangladeshis across the country also joined the event from their respective places.
By arranging the event, Bangladesh surpassed the Indian record of singing national anthem with 1,21,653 people together.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also present at the venue and sang the national anthem-“Amar Sonar Bangla Ami Tomay Bhalobashi”.
Earlier on December 16 on the occasion of Victory Day of the country, Bangladesh formed the world's largest human national flag.
