Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Bangladesh government on Monday signed a trade agreement with Kuwait to boost bilateral trade relations between the two countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
Commerce Minister Faruk Khan signed the agreement with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait Ahmed Rashed Al-Haroun in Kuwait City, an official announcement said. 
By signing the agreement, the two countries promise to promote and diversify the exchange of goods and services between them. 
The two countries will also provide each other necessary facilities to participate in trade fairs and international markets. The agreement is valid for five years and could be renewed for similar periods. 
Prior to the signing of the agreement, on his arrival at the Kuwait Ministry’s Complex, Faruk Khan was received by his Kuwaiti counterpart. Both the Ministers led their respective sides in the bilateral talks.
The Commerce and Industry Minister of Kuwait welcomed Faruk Khan and his delegation to Kuwait. 
He emphasized the need to further cooperation in the areas of trade and economy. He said that his country could import food from Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh minister requested Kuwait to recruit unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled manpower, such as technicians, engineers, doctors and teachers from Bangladesh. 
In the bilateral talks, Kuwait was also attended by Abdul Aziz Al-Khaldi, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Ambassador to Bangladesh, and other high officials while Bangladesh side included Syed Shahed Reza, Ambassador, and Monoj Kumar Roy, Joint Secretary and others.
