Washington, US (BBN)-Bangladesh slipped its position from last year’s 172 to 174 among 189 nations in the international ranking of World Bank’s (WB) Ease of Doing Business 2016 report that was released on Wednesday.
According to the Doing Business Report 2016 – the flagship report of the World Bank and International Finance Corporation, out of 10 indicators, Bangladesh slipped on five and remained unchanged in five.
It means, doing business in Bangladesh becomes slightly more difficult after a year.
The World Bank (WB)’s Doing Business report, started in 2002, review business regulations and their enforcement across 189 countries.
Economies are ranked from 1 to 189 by the ease of doing business ranking.
The last year’s report ranked Bangladesh at 173, but this year’s report features the recalculated 2015 rankings, in which Bangladesh comes at 172, computed according to a new methodology.
