Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday, maintaining the previous day’s upward trend.
Both bourses – the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend till filed the report at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 20.25 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 17.96 points within first 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 20.25 points or 0.42 percent to stand at 4,866.35 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw higher trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 7.84 points or 0.44 percent to reach at 1,793.32 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 4.72 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 1,156.91 points.
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stands at BDT 640 million when the report was filed at 10:45 million, riding on Argon Denims and Olympic Accessories.
Of the issues traded till then, 135 advanced, 30 declined and 40 issues remained unchanged.
Argon Denims dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 54 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Olympic Accessories BDT 53 million, IFAD Autos BDT 50 million, Fortune Shoes BDT 44 million and Aamra Technologies BDT 34 million.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw upward trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX –advancing 17.96 points to stand at 9,085.06 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 41 gained, 18 declined and 10 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 25 million.
