Bangladesh's stocks close flat

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Stocks ended flat Thursday on the both bourses---Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), breaking fifth session’s winning streak with turnover improved significantly as prudent investors booked profit.

The General Index of the DSE---DGEN ended at 4,318.18 points, losing only 1.72 points or 0.03 per cent.

Of the 274 companies and mutual fund units traded on the premier bourse, among them 130 advanced, 111 declined and 33 remained unchanged.

Turnover improved significantly on the premier bourse---DSE to BDT 3.32 billion, 28.68 per cent from previous session’s BDT 2.58 billion.

Newly listed Summit Purbanchol Power Company topped the turnover value with shares worth BDT 391.27 million changing hands.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed flat with the CSE Selective Category Index, CSCX ended at 8,340.46 points, losing 1.30 points.

Losers beat 67 to 97 with 90 issues remaining unchanged on the port city bourse with turnover value of BDT 407.41 million.
