Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh stocks opened with positive mode on Thursday after previous day’s slight correction, market operators said.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 32.48 points or 0.72 per cent to 4,488.05, after the 1st 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am (local time).

The two other indices also saw positive trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 11.08 points or 0.66 per cent to 1,689.95. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 6.29 points or 0.58 per cent to stand at 1,089.64 points.

The DSE turnover stood at BDT 1.37 billion when the report was filed. Of the issues traded till then, 138 advanced, 61 declined 26 remained unchanged. Khulna Power Company Ltd (KPCL) was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 97 million changing hands followed by United Power, BSCCL, Saif Powertec and RAK Ceramics.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – also saw upward trend in early hours of trading with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – rising 42.14 points to 8,452.57, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 67 gained, 39 declined and 10 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 113 million.
