Bangladesh’s stocks stay positive at midday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Wednesday as investors continued their buying appetite on sector specific stocks amid optimism.
After ending slightly higher in the previous day, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive amid slow trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 12 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 10 points at 10:15am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced 14.70 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 40 points at 10:30am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced 4.97 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 12 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,807 points, advancing 4.97 points or 0.08 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also stayed positive till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 0.12 points to reach at 2124 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also stayed positive zone, advancing 1.20 points or 0.09 percent to reach at 1,314 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.08 billion, when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
IDLC Finance was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 169 million changing hands, followed by RAK Ceramics BDT 124 million, Brac Bank BDT 105 million, Mercantile Bank BDT 71 million Fu-Wang Food BDT 70 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 151 advanced, 97 declined and 62 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 12 points to stand at 10,891 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 86 gained, 46 declined and 45 issues remained unchanged with BDT 99 in turnover.
