Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks are virtually unchanged in early minutes of trade on Thursday as investors stepped back after weeks of losses.
At around 10:30am, the benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange DSEX was 5,467, up 8 points over the previous close.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, reached at 2,029, up 2.7 points. However, the DSE Shariah Index DSES gained almost 2 points to 1,261.
The trade got faster pace maintaining previous day’s trend, indicating that investors showed interest in taking part in trading.
Non-banking financial institutions, energy and textile issues are in the investors’ radar so far.
The DSE turnover stood at over Tk500 million with 136 issues gaining, 62 falling and 61 remained unchanged.
Appollo Ispat was the highest traded share, followed by Argon Denim, BD Computer, Paramount Textile, BD Finance and ICB 2nd NRB Mutual Fund.
Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Category Index CSCX rose 17 points to 10,261.
