Bangladesh Taka appreciated by two paisa against US$

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh Taka (BDT) appreciated by two paisa against the US dollar in the inter-bank foreign exchange market in evening transactions on Sunday.
The US dollar was quoted at maximum BDT 80.54 against BDT 80.55-BDT 80.56 of the previous working level.
“The value of local currency increased by two paisa against the US dollar as supply is sufficient against the demand in the foreign exchange market,” a senior treasury official of a leading commercial bank told the BBN in Dhaka.
On Thursday, the value of the US currency was BDT 80.55-BDT 80.56.
Bangladesh foreign exchange market remained closed on Friday and Saturday as those were weekend in the country.
