Bangladesh Taka depreciating mood continues

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The depreciating mood of Bangladesh Taka (BDT) against US dollar continued in the inter-bank foreign exchange (forex) market during evening trading on Wednesday.
The US dollar was BDT 78.80-78.82 in the evening market.
The US dollar was quoted at BDT 78.74-BDT 78.75 in the morning which was unchanged from the previous level.
The US dollar was quoted at maximum BDT 78.82 in the morning trading today.
On Tuesday, it was BDT 78.79-78.80 that means during the morning trading today the domestic currency was depreciated by 2 paisa.
“The depreciating mood of the BDT persisted throughout the day due to the higher demand of the greenback to settle the import payment obligations,” a senior treasury official of a leading private commercial bank (PCB) told the BBN in Dhaka Wednesday evening.
The exchange rate of the US dollar at customer level rose to BDT 79.7321 on Tuesday from BDT 79.7102 of the previous level. It was BDT 79.6535 on Sunday.
