Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The depreciating mood of Bangladesh Taka (BDT) against the US dollar continued in inter-bank foreign exchange (forex) market during evening transactions on Thursday.
The US dollar was quoted at BDT 78.95 in the evening market.
It was BDT 78.93 – BDT 78.95 in the morning transaction which was unchanged from the previous working day.
“The depreciating mood of the BDT persisted throughout the day due to rising demand of the US dollar in the market,” a senior treasury official of a leading private commercial bank (PCB) told the BBN in Dhaka Thursday evening.
“The exchange rate of the local currency against the US dollar is likely to cross BDT 79.00 in the next week,” the senior treasury official hinted.
