Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The exchange rate of Bangladesh Taka (BDT) against the US dollar remained unchanged at the closing on Tuesday in inter-bank foreign exchange (forex) market.
The US dollar was quoted at BDT 78.58. The US currency was 78.57-78.58 on Monday.
“As the demand for the greenback remained almost unchanged so the rate also stayed stable,” a senior treasury official of a commercial bank said.
On Monday, BDT lost nearly five paise against the US dollar at customer level due to higher demand for the greenback in the market.
The exchange rate of the US dollar at customer level rose to BDT 79.1746 on Monday from BDT 79.1237 of the previous working day. It was BDT 79.0577 on Sunday.
