Bangladesh Taka remains stable against US dollar

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The exchange rate of Bangladesh Taka remained stable against the US dollar in the evening transactions in the inter-bank foreign exchange market on Thursday.
The US dollar was quoted at maximum BDT 80.64 unchanged from the opening trading.
“The exchange rate of the Bangladesh Taka remained stable against the US dollar despite higher demand of the greenback in the market,” a senior treasury official of a leading commercial bank told the BBN in Dhaka Thursday evening.
In the opening trading Wednesday, the exchange rate of the local currency was quoted at maximum BDT 80.64, gaining two paisa more from the previous working level.
On Tuesday, the American dollar was quoted at maximum BDT 80.62 against BDT 80.60 that means it gained two paisa more from the previous working level.
From the July 4 to 10, the local currency was quoted at maximum BDT 80.60.
Bangladesh foreign exchange market remained closed on Friday and Saturday as those were weekend in the country.
