Bangladesh Taka remains unchanged against US$

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The exchange rate of Bangladesh Taka (BDT) against the US dollar remained almost unchanged at the end of the day on Sunday in inter-bank foreign exchange (forex) market.
The US currency, in the morning, opened in the range of 78.62-78.65.
At the end of the day, it was quoted BDT 78.65.
The greenback was quoted at BDT 78.62 - BDT 78.65 on Thursday.
“As Sunday is the weekend in the international market so the demand of dollar remained unchanged,” a senior treasury official of a leading commercial bank told the BBN in Dhaka.
The BDT may depreciate against the US dollar further on Monday, he predicted.
However, the local currency deprecated by nearly six paise against the US dollar at customer level on Thursday due to higher demand for the greenback in the market.
The exchange rate of the US dollar at customer level rose to BDT 79.3740 on Thursday from BDT 79.3188 of the previous level. It was BDT 79.2487 on Tuesday.
