Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) –The exchange rate of Bangladesh Taka (BDT) against the US dollar in the inter-bank foreign exchange market remained unchanged in evening transactions on Thursday.
The US dollar was quoted at BDT 80.57 at closing which is unchanged from today’s opening level.
“The existing trend of Bangladeshi currency and US dollar in the inter-bank forex market may continue in the coming days,” a senior treasury official of a leading private commercial bank (PCB) told the BBN in Dhaka Thursday evening.
On Wednesday’s closing, the exchange rate of the BDT against the US dollar was quoted at maximum BDT 80.57.
In the opening trading on Wednesday, the exchange rate of the local currency was also quoted BDT 80.55-BDT 80.57.
On Tuesday, the US dollar was quoted at maximum BDT 80.55 – BDT 80.57 at closing.
During the early transactions Tuesday, the American currency was quoted BDT 80.53 – BDT 80.55.
From May 22 to the opening trade on May 30, the exchange rate of the local currency and the US dollar remained stable that means it was quoted at maximum BDT 80.53 – BDT 80.55.
Bangladesh foreign exchange market remained closed on Friday and Saturday as those were weekend in the country.
