Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The exchange rate of Bangladesh Taka (BDT) remained stable against the US currency in evening transactions on Wednesday in inter-bank foreign exchange (forex) market.
The US dollar was quoted at maximum BDT 80.53 – BDT 80.55 during the evening trading.
During the early transactions, the American currency was quoted the same.
From Monday, Bangladesh currency remained stable that means it was quoted at maximum quoted at BDT 80.53-BDT 80.55.
“The exchange rate of local currency against the greenback remained unchanged due to lower demand for the US dollar in the inter-bank market,” a senior treasury official of a leading private commercial bank told the BBN in Dhaka Wednesday evening.
On Sunday, Bangladesh Taka appreciated by two paisa against the US dollar in the inter-bank foreign exchange market and it was quoted at maximum BDT 80.54 at closing.
On Thursday, the value of the US currency was BDT 80.55-BDT 80.56.
Bangladesh foreign exchange market remained closed on Friday and Saturday as those were weekend in the country.
