Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), country’s prime bourse, is going to introduce Internet-based trading system by July 2011.

“All necessary works are going on in full swing and we are now at the final stage. We expect to start Internet-based trading system within July this year,” Ahsanul Islam Titu, Senior Vice President of the DSE Ahsanul Islam Titu was quoted by the Financial Express (FE), a local newspaper, as saying.

Internet-based trading system means buying and selling stocks by placing orders through online on a broker’s server. Execution can also be seen instantly on the investors’ computer screen after the order is inserted by the brokerage house in the trading engine.

Through this system, anybody can observe the market situation on the Internet and place buy and sell order through his broker.

Mr. Islam also said: “Necessary technological support for introducing stock trading through online network is being developed with the help of Cambridge Solution Limited, an America-India joint venture IT Company.”

Currently, trading of an individual investor at the DSE is being carried out through brokerage houses in person or over phone, but with the availability of mobile and Internet technology, stock trading will be as easy requiring a few clicks from a personal computer (PC) or mobile phone.
