Bangladesh to host ICC World Twenty20 Tournament in 2014

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh will lonely host the ICC World Twenty20 Tournament from March 7 to April 6, 2014.

This was informed at an inter-ministerial coordination meeting on the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh, 2014 tournament held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at her office, said PM’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad.

A total of 16 male and eight female teams will participate in the tournament beginning on March 15 in 2014.

The inaugural match (male) of the tournament will be held in Chittagong on March 15 in 2014, while the opening match (female) in Cox’s Bazar on March 27.

In the men’s version, there will be 35 matches, while the number of matches (female) is 15.

Besides, there will be 16 practice matches in the men’s version, while the number of practice matches is eight in the women’s version.

The arrival of the participating teams in the tourney would begin on March 1 in 2014.

The Prime Minister was apprised about the overall preparation of the tournament at the meeting and she directed all concerned to make the tournament a success.
