Bangladesh to host regional workshop on inflation on Monday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - A high-level regional training workshop titled "Beyond Inflation Targets: Policy Options and Instruments for Sustaining Growth and Equitable Development' begins in the capital Dhaka on Monday. 
Finance Minister AMA Muhith will inaugurate the workshop at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka. 
United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), United Nations Department of Economic and social Affairs (DESA) and Bangladesh Bank (BB) are arranging jointly the training workshop. 
Top officials of central banks, financial institutions, policymakers, economists and researchers from different countries like the USA, Canada, Singapore, Afghanistan, India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, Nepal, China and Barbados to be joining the workshop, the organizers said.
The sessions include role of development bank and specialized institutions, managing capital flows, inflation targeting and tradeoff, the source of inflation and policy suitability, prudential regulation: balancing the need for promoting financial sector's growth, managing exchange rate stability and competitiveness and coordinating fiscal monetary and exchange policies.
