Bangladesh to introduce separate salary structure for teachers

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The government is working to introduce separate salary structure for teachers to improve standard of teaching profession, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said on Friday.

The ministry also urged the meritorious students of the country to come in teaching profession for contributing to education sector, an official statement said.

The education minister made the call while visiting different examination centers of non-government teachers registration in the capital Dhaka.

Education Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Chairman of Non-government Teachers Registration and Certificate Authority (NTRCA) also were present on the occasion.

A total of 269,137 candidates are taking part in the non- government teachers registration examination this year. Of them172,655 students are appearing at the examination for teachers at high school level while 96,482 students are taking part for teachers at college level.
