Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The government has taken a plan to launch a satellite in the space with broadcasting facilities to make information and communication technology more available and upgrade it to international standard.
An inter-ministerial meeting was held on Wednesday in this connection with Post and Telecommunications Minister Raziuddin Ahmed Raju in the chair at the conference room of the ministry in Dhaka.
The meeting discussed technical aspects of launching the satellite, possible expenditure and other issues relating to implementation of the project, an official statement said.
Speaking at the meeting, the minister said launching of the own satellite is now the demand of the day to expedite implementation of the government’s ‘digital programs’.
The experts said the satellite project implementation will cost about US$200 to US$300 million and take about three years.
