Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The government has declared a national mourning for Saturday to pay respects to Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who died on Friday.
“The national flag will fly at half-mast at all government and private buildings including government, semi-government and autonomous offices, educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad during the state mourning,” an official handout said in Dhaka on Friday night,
Special prayers (doa) will be held at all mosques across the country seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of the late King, while special prayers will be held other places of the worships.

A special doa and munajat will take place at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital Dhaka after Zohr prayers  on Saturday seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of the Saudi King, an Islamic Foundation announcement said.
President Md Abdul Hamid will fly to Riyadh on the same day to offer condolences and sympathy on behalf of Bangladesh, according to the handout.
King Abdullah, believed to be around 90 years old, died at 1:00 am Saudi time (2200 GMT) on Friday.

After his death, Abdullah’s half-brother Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, 79, has ascended to the throne.
