Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh government has asked its mission in Tokyo to shift to Hiroshima or Nagasaki immediately for fear of spread of radiation from exploded reactors at nuclear power plants in Japan.
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni disclosed the government decision at a press briefing at the Foreign Ministry in the capital Dhaka Tuesday afternoon.
The Bangladesh mission in Tokyo also issued a consular advisory for 12,000 Bangladeshi nationals living in Japan to stay in safer places free from the nuclear radiation.
The foreign minister said so far they have no information about any casualty of Bangladeshis in the earthquake or tsunami that devastated northeastern Japan on March 11.
