Bangladesh wins maritime dispute case against India

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh has won the maritime boundary case against India getting 19,467 square kilometers of areas in the Bay of Bengal.  

On the other hand, India has won 6,135 square km of area among the total 25,602 square km disputed territory.

Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali revealed the information during a press briefing in his ministry on Tuesday.

Netherlands-based Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) on Monday delivered the verdict on the dispute of the maritime boundary between Bangladesh and India.

Immediately after the pronouncement of the verdict, the court had also sent the copy of the verdict to the respective countries.

According to the arbitration court’s moratorium, the verdict cannot be disclosed for 24 hours that will end Tuesday.
