Bangladeshi cattle trader tortured to death ‘by BSF’

Sathkhira, Bangladesh (BBN)-A Bangladeshi cattle trader, has been allegedly tortured to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on the frontier of Satkhira, a south-western district of Bangladesh.
The deceased, Rubel, was a resident of Haroddoha village of Sadar upazila of Satkhira, media reports said.
His body was recovered Sunday evening from Ichhamoti River in the upazila.
Family members of the deceased informed that Rubel went to India along with two other men to bring a consignment of cattle.
The BSF troops detained Rubel and Kawser Ali, another associate of Rubel, while they were returning from India, claimed Ashadul, who also went to India with Rubel.
He also alleged that the BSF members tortured Rubel to death and threw him in the river.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) sources said that their colleagues recovered the body of Rubel from the Ichhamoti River and handed it over to local police.
