Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladeshi companies have received spot export orders worth US$ 1.045 million at the five-day Frankfurt International Trade Fair (Ambient-2012), Germany ended on February 14.
The state-run Export Promotion Bureau (RPB) participated in the fair with four reputed Bangladeshi companies– RFL Plastic Limited, Swajan Crafts, Corr-The Jute Works and Classical Handmade Products BD– under its market expansion plan internationally, a press statement said.
A total of 4,543 companies from 87 countries including ASEAN, Taiwan, EU, India, Japan, Mainland China, Australia, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand participated in the fair.
The Bangladeshi companies showcased jute and jute goods, basket ware, ceramics, plastic products, candles, terra cotta, glass, wooden items, bed cover, curtain, cushion and flowers stand & rug in the exhibition.
In addition to the spot export orders, Bangladeshi companies received prospective orders worth around US$ 20.10 million. Moreover, the companies got a lot of quires, from the prospective buyers, which are expected to be turned into export order in the near future.
Commercial Counselor of Bangladeshi in Germany Abdur Rauf extended support and cooperation to make Bangladesh participation in the fair a success.
Nurjahan Khanom, Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Abu Mukhles Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Director of EPB, attended in the event as pavilion director and assistant pavilion director respectively, it added.
