Last updated: November 12, 2015

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-A Bangladesh court on Thursday handed down capital punishment to Oishee Rahman for killing her parents in 2013.
On August 14 in 2013, Mahfuzur Rahman, an inspector of special branch of police, and his wife Swapna Rahman were stabbed dead in their rented flat at Chamelibagh in Malibagh of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
The court also awarded Oishee's friend Mizanur Rahman Roni to two years rigorous imprisonment. It also acquitted her another friend Asaduzzaman Joni from the case as his involvement was not found with the killing.
Judge Sayed Ahmed of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 in Dhaka on Thursday handed down the verdict in a jam-packed coutroom.
Police on August 16, two days after the killing, recovered the bodies of Oishee's parents from their flat.
Oishee, who had taken her O-level examination, with their housemaid Sumi surrendered before the Paltan Police Station the following day.
