Bangladesh’s businessmen urge Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in renewable energy

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BFCCI) has urged the Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in renewable energy sector in Bangladesh.

The country’s apex trade body made the call during a meeting with a nine-member Chinese business delegation at its auditorium on Saturday.

FBCCI first vice-president Jasim Uddin said energy is essential to promote the country’s trade and business.

Highlighting Bangladesh’s potentials in business, he said the present government has planned to generate five per cent of power from renewable energy including solar panel, which is one of the biggest opportunities for foreign investors to invest their capital in the city.

The Chinese delegation expressed their willingness to invest in textile and garment manufacturing sector due to low cost of production. The meeting also discussed in detail other business related issues to enhance trade relations between Bangladesh and China.

Chairman of Xin Jin Yan Printing and Dying Co Ltd Zhou Gue Liang led the delegation.

The other members of the delegation were Huang Hao Yu, Huang Jia Nan, Yang Zhi Wei, Hua Jian Wei, Xu Yin Yan, Zhu Zheng, Shao Ye and lily Sun.

FBCCI directors Nurul Huda, Golam Moinuddin, Golam Mostufa Talukdar, Jalal Uddin and Obidur Rahman and president of Bangladesh Plastic Manufacturers Association Shamsul Alam, among others, attended the meeting.
