Bangladesh's call money rate moves up slightly

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The weighted average rate on call money moved up slightly on Sunday while the volume of transactions in the market increased significantly, market operators said.

The weighted average rate on call money remained rose to 3.62 per cent on the day from 3.59 per cent of the previous working day, according to the central bank latest statistics, released on Monday.

On the other hand, the volume of transactions in the inter-bank call money market rose to BDT 73. 61 billion on the day from BDT 70.08 of the previous level, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) data showed.

Besides, the inter-bank call money rate remained stable in the range between 1.50 per cent and 4.50 per cent from the previous level.
“The ongoing trend in the call money market continues,” a senior treasury official of a leading private commercial bank told BBN in Dhaka while explaining the latest market situation.
