Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s export earnings grew by 14.39 per cent in October compared with same period of the last year, according to official data released on Sunday.
The export earnings rose to US$ 2.71 billion in October from $2.37 billion a year ago, the state-run Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) said.
On the other hand, the overall export earnings during the first four months of current fiscal year (FY) 2016-17 grew by 6.53 per cent to $10.79 billion compared to that of the same period of last fiscal,
The export earnings stood at $10.13 billion during the same period of the FY 16. The earnings, however, fell short of the target by 6.84 per cent set by the government earlier for the July-October of the FY 17.
“Higher export of apparel and clothing items has helped achieving the export growth during the period under review,” a EPB official explained.
