Bangladesh's premier mourns hospital tragedy in Kolkata

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina expressed her profound shock at the loss of lives in a fire incident in Kolkata on Friday.

In a message of condolence to her Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh, Sheikh Hasina prayed for peace of the departed souls and also conveyed her sympathy to the bereaved family members.

The Bangladesh leader hoped that the Indian government and people would be able to overcome the losses caused by the fire soon and be able to continue their forward march.

At least 88 people, most of them patients including one from Bangladesh, were suffocated to death on Friday when a massive fire swept through a hospital in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata, according to reports.
