Bangladesh’s realtors seek media help to get rid of gas, power problems

Last updated: December 2, 2011

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The country’s realtors have sought cooperation from media to get rid of existing crisis faced by the real estate sector due to lack of gas and electricity connections and mandatory installation of solar system.

Members of Real Estate & Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) expressed this at a view exchange meeting with the journalists at Jatiya Press Club in the capital Dhaka on Friday.

Former Managing Director and chief editor of the state-run Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury was the chief guest in the program.

He said the real estate sector should be 'development friendly' rather than a narrow business minded as some realtors are cheating the people, which is harmful for the entire industry.

He said riding a car is not the basic need of people, but no one could live without housing.

Former BSS MD told the media that the government should give priority to the problems of mass people.
