Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed on the positive trend at midday on Monday as investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous five days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on positive note amid low trading activities.
Within first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 28 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 34 points at 10:30am.
After first hour of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 33 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 38 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of trading, DSEX advanced more than 6.0 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 1.74 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,323 points, advancing 6.28 points at 12noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 0.48 points or 0.02 percent to reach at 1,966 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 6.69 points to stand at 1,235 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.16 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Alif Industries was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 153 million changing hands, closely followed by Berger Paints BDT 113 million, Nahee Aluminum BDT 105 million, Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills BDT 86 million and Intraco Refueling Station BDT 82 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 140 advanced, 117 declined and 65 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse –advanced 1.74 points to stand at 16,424 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 1.90 points to reach at 9,934 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 54 gained, 78 declined and 29 issues remained unchanged with BDT 56 million in turnover.
