Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Share trading and official activities at Bangladesh’s capital markets will remain closed for nine days from September 9 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha including weekly holidays, officials said.
The board of directors of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday took a decision to suspend share trading on September 15.
According to a DSE official, the Eid vacation will begin from September 11 and continue till September 14. But September 9, 10 and September 16, 17 are weekly holidays, while DSE board of directors decided to close the market on September 15. As a result, the total vacation will be for nine days, including weekly holidays.
Trading and official activities will also remain closed at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) during these holidays, said a CSE official.
The trading and official activities on both bourses will resume from September 18 (Sunday).
Trading will begin at 10:30am and continue till 2:30pm, while office will open from 9:30am to 5:30pm in every working day.
