Bangladesh’s stocks close higher

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks edged marginally higher on Wednesday with declined slightly as investors followed cautious mood.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended at 4,575.50 points, gaining 12.53 points or 0.27 percent from previous session.

The total turnover value stood at BDT 4.19 billion which was 6.26 percent lower compared to the previous session’s value.

The gainers took a modest lead over the losers as out of 294 issues traded, 175 gained, 93 declined and 26 issues closed unchanged on the DSE floor.

The port city bourse -- Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- also closed marginally higher with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX -- gained 28.40 points to stand at 8,809.49 points.

Gainers beat losers 117 to 75 with 32 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 8.52 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover value of BDT 305.31 million.
