Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh stocks edged lower on Tuesday as investor booked marginal profit in later part of the trading session.
The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) — DSEX ended at 4,586.91 points, gaining 21.38 points or 0.46 per ent.
The DS30, comprising blue chips lost 0.17 points or 0.01 percent to close at 1,682.07 points. However, the DSE Index (DSES) went up by 2.17 points or 0.21 percent to close at 1,021.85 points.
Turnover value on the DSE improved further and crossed BDT 6.0 billion mark and stood at BDT 6.26 billion, registering 24 percent increase over the previous session’s value.
Out of 290 issues traded, 75 advanced, 200 declined and 15 issues closed unchanged on the DSE floor.
The port city bourse — the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed lower with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX lost 69.21 points to close at 8,872.67 points.
Losers beat gainers 162 to 48, with 14 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 9.28 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover value of BDT 503.19 million.
