Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Dhaka stocks ended flat on Monday amid choppy trading with turnover declined slightly as investors followed cautious stance.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended at 4,554.14 points, shedding a fraction of 0.36 points.
However, the other two indices closed positive.
The DS30, comprising blue chips gained 6.64 points or 0.38 percent to close at 1,712.56 points.
The DSE Shariah Index advanced 2.32 points or 0.22 percent to close at 1,062.77 points.
DSE turnover stood at BDT 6.15 billion which was 2.68 percent lower over the previous session’s value of BDT 6.32 billion.
Out of 299 issues traded, 164 declined, 107 advanced and 28 remained unchanged on the DSE floor.
Kulna Printing & Packaging, which made debut Monday, was the most traded stock with shares worth BDT 514.24 million changing hands followed by Lafarge Surma Cement, BSRM Steels, GP and Appllo Ispat.
Kulna Printing & Packaging was also the day’s highest gainer, posting a rise of 271 percent in its debut trading day while Green delta Mutual Fund was the day’s worst loser, slumping by 11.32 percent.
The port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, ended lower with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – lost 55.14 points to close at 8,541.13 points.
Losers beat gainers 133 to 67, with 23 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 15.42 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover value of BDT 541.55 million
