Bangladesh’s stocks continue gaining streak

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks continued its gaining streak from morning to closing trade on Tuesday.
The market opened with optimistic note in the morning and maintained the trend throughout the session with roller coaster ride.
Brokers said, investors lack of confidence fluctuated the market.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, gained 13.01 points while the selective catagory index of Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, also increased 43.95 points at the closing of the day's session.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
At the end of the session, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained 13.01 points or 0.28 per cent and closed the day at 4,657.65 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 3.46 points or 0.19 per cent to finish at 1,766.85 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose to 6.98 points or 0.62 per cent to end at 1,115.52 points.
Total turnover stood at BDT 3.391 billion.
The gainers took a lead over the losers as out of 319 issues traded; 166 advanced, 105 closed lower and 48 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
Lafarge Surma Cement was the day’s top turnover leader with shares of BDT 265.61 million changing hands followed by Mozaffar Hossain Spinning Mills Ltd, Beximco Pharma, Aman Feed, Shahjibazar Power Co Ltd and GrameenPhone.
Earlier on Monday, DSEX gained 36.60 points to close at 4,644 points as investors went on last hour buying spree.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also closed higher with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gaining 43.95 points to end at 8,658.05.
Losers beat gainers 135 to 65, with 36 issues remained unchanged on the port city bourse that traded 8,703 billion shares and mutual fund units with a value of BDT 298.93 million.
