Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a downtrend in the early hours on Thursday after two sessions positive.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) dropped 34.24 points or 0.93 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,639 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 27 advanced, 104 declined and 18 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at only BDT 139 million till the report was filed at 11am.

United Airways topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 20.63 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a negative trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 44 points or 0.63 per cent to stand at 6,924 points also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, only 10 advanced, 60 declined and 4 remained unchanged.
