Bangladesh’s stocks dip at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Share price index at the country’s both bourses –Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) –-opened with a negative trend on Monday, maintaining previous session’s downtrend.

The DSE benchmark index, DSEX came down below 4,000 points previous day to reach 3,958.37 points, losing 10.41points at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 44 gained, 140 declined and 35 remained unchanged.

Turnover value stood at BDT 311 million till then with Continental Insurance topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 49.12 million changing hands at 11am when the report was filed.

The CSE key index, CSCX also lost 17.82 points to stand at 7,712.64 points, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 23 gained, 54 declined and 16 remained unchanged with Tk 20 million turnover value.
