Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed downward trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday amid volatility, the fourth session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 11.42 points or 0.23 per cent to reach at 4,860.38, after first 30 minutes of trade, when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 3.43 points or 0.18 per cent to stand at 1,901.32. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) dropped 1.84 points or 0.15 per cent to stand at 1,206.07.
Turnover on the DSE stands at BDT 1.12 billion when the report was filed at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 97 advanced, 117 declined and 50 issues remained unchanged.
United Power was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 198 million changing hands followed by Beach Hatchery, United Airways, Khan Brothers PP Woven and ACI Limited.
The port city bourse- the CSE also saw downward trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – lost 8.41points to stand at 9,084, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 38 gained, 62 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 86 million.
