Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a downtrend in the early hours on Monday amid countrywide hartal.
The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 15.48 points or 0.42 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,635 points at 11am when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded then, 44 advanced, 73 declined and 12 remained unchanged.
Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at only BDT 101 million till the report was filed at 11am.
First Prime Finance Mutual Fund topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 10.19 million changing hands till then.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a negative trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 48 points to stand at 6,833.32 also at 11am.
Of the issues traded then, only 19 advanced, 47 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
