Bangladesh’s stocks down at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw negative trend while the port city bourse saw mixed trend in early hour of trading on Monday after previous session’s sharp gain.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 8.15 points or 0.17 percent to reach at 4,525.05 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The two others indices also saw negative trend.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 5.60 points or 0.32 percent to reach at 1,715.46 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) dropped 4.89 points or 0.44 percent to stand at 1,099.85 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 435 million when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded till then, 90 advanced, 100 declined and 40 issues remain unchanged.
Shahjibazar Power Company was the most traded stocks with shares worth B 45 million changing hands till then followed by ACI Formulations, ACI, Golden Son and Lafarge Surma Cement.
The port city bourse – the CSE – however saw mixed trend in early hours of trading with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gained 7.17 points to stand at 8,383.47 points, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 41 gained, 32 declined and 13 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 28 million.
