Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw downward trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday, the third trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went down by 5.68 points or 0.11 percent to reach at 4,862.78 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.

The other two indices also saw negative trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 12.84 points or 0.15 percent to reach at 1,799.57 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) dropped 0.28 points or 0.02 percent to stand at 1,148.63 points.  

DSE turnover stands at BDT 270 million when the report was filed at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 81 advanced, 115 declined and 53 issues remain unchanged.

DESCO was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 38 million changing hands till then followed by Lafarge Surma, Fu-Wang Foods, Summit Port Alliance and GP.

The port city bourse – the CSE also saw downward trend in early hours of trading with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – lost 34.78 points to stand at 9,064.16 points, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 32 gained, 65 declined and 20 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 24 million.
